COVID-19 notice

Here at the White House we are preparing to re-open pending Government permissions to do so.  We are preparing carefully as we take the safety of our family members and our guests seriously and to ensure that both ourselves and our guests can stay safe. Our set up at The White House, with individual guest suites, all separate from the main house and with own entrances, is ideally suited to provide reassurance of a safe space to act as a base to enjoy this Somerset area of outstanding natural beauty.

The way we operate will be subtlety adjusted to ensure that the two metre rule will continue to be adhered to for the foreseeable future, even after the Government have given permission to reduce this.

  • In place of our communal breakfast table, we will bring breakfasts directly to our guest suites. This means that for the foreseeable future our cooked breakfasts will no longer by offered, although our plentiful continental breakfast of freshly baked croissants, home made jams, cereals, fruits, yoghurts and juices will continue to provide a wide selection and ensure you are well set up for your day
  • To minimise contact, on arrival, we will no longer offer a welcome drink and cake. However, good quality coffee, tea and cookies will still be available within guest suites on arrival
  • Individual hand sanitizers will be placed in all guest suites. These will be yours to keep, and will be replaced for each new guest arriving
  • Remote controls will be protected by single use covers, replaced as part of our end of stay cleaning regime
  • We are ensuring that all cleaning materials are clean and fit for use.  All guest suites will be sanitised thoroughly at the end of your stay and we will be using disposable aprons, gloves, masks and foot protection during refreshes and end of stay change-overs.  We already have a stringent cleaning regime in place but this will be supplemented by the use of approved hospital standard cleaning fluids with all hard surfaces sprayed with sanitiser to ensure the safety of all of our guests.  This includes all pages of our guest information books.
  • In addition to names and addresses, we will also be collecting email and telephone details of our guests on arrival. This information will be used as part of the track and trace system being implemented in the UK in the case of any guests or members of our household displaying any symptoms of the COVID-19 virus

I have also taken a formal online programme to gain certification in Infection Prevention and Control and you can view my certificate here.

We are confident that these measures mean you will be able to enjoy a welcome break away from home, and look forward to seeing you all again in the near future

with our best wishes

Mary and Rod
