Musicircus

Here at The White House we are looking forward to participating in the Wells Cathedral School Musicircus which will take place on Saturday 18th June.

Over 400 musicians will participate in the event which will be opened by Michael Eavis at 11am.

Focused on and around the Cathedral Green, the event will include bell ringing, mass choirs, brass on the rooftops and piano serenades under the arches.

And at 12:30 the event will close with a mass rendition of the Beatles classic “All you need is love”

Watch out for us on the cathedral green – we will be bell ringing and have also been invited into the Cathedral bell tower for the very first time to see the Cathedral bells in action.  Although we are not expert enough to try the Cathedral bells (as you can imagine they are extremely heavy) it is our ambition to progress to these if the event is repeated next year.

The Royal Bath and Wells Show

The Royal Bath and West Show returns between 1st and 4th June.  It’s the only four day royal show in the country and its history goes right back to 1852.

As well as the chance to sample and buy some of Somerset’s best produce (including my favorites cheese and cider) there are opportunities to view some of the finest livestock in the country

There are art exhibitions, showgrounds and a chance to experience canoeing of all things, the most exciting part is a new music area, with Michael Eavis, founder of the Glastonbury Festival, sourcing acts.  Music will take place right throughout the day and early evening, and given his experience of Glastonbury, that means there will be a real festival feel to the showground.
